Brazilian guarantees medal in the stage of Ostend (Belgium)
Brazilian Gilmara Sol do Rosário won a bronze medal at the Paralympic Cycling World Cup stage in Ostend (Belgium). The woman from São Paulo achieved the feat this Thursday (4th) in a WH2 class time trial (athletes who propel bicycles with their arms).
Gilmara completed the 10.5 kilometers of the race in 29min45s47, behind the American Katerina Brim, champion with a time of 18min11s20, and the Italian Roberta Amadeo, who took bronze after completing the course in 21min34s70.
The Brazilian athlete is going through a good time, as in April she won two bronze medals in the World Cup stage held in the Italian town of Maniago, the medals came in the time trial and in the endurance race.
In the race held in Italy, Paralympic medalist Lauro Chaman secured a gold medal in the time trial and a silver in the endurance race for the MC5 class (athletes with conventional bicycles). André Gricente, on the other hand, won bronze in the road race in the MC4 class. The two have yet to compete in the Belgian stage.
