Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics won this Thursday (2) gold medals in both the team competition and the individual competition at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

In the mixed presentation by groups, the country achieved the highest score, 29.05, and totaled 64.45 points overall, thus reaching the highest place on the podium. Silver went to the Mexican team, and bronze to the American team. Furthermore, Bárbara Domingos also won the gold medal in the individual ribbon presentation. It was the first individual gold medal for a Brazilian in rhythmic gymnastics in the history of the Pan American Games.

As a bonus, the country also managed to win the bronze medal in this contest, with Maria Eduarda Alexandre.

The country also won gold medals in athletics (Renan Correa, in the 200 meters, with a time of 20s37), in the men’s triathlon, with Miguel Hidalgo (time of 1h46m08s) and in wrestling, with Giulia Penalber, who defeated Canadian Hannah Taylor in the end of the category up to 57 kg.
