Palmeiras beat São Paulo by 2-0, this Sunday, at the Morumbi stadium, for the 10th round of the Brazilian Championship. With the result, coach Abel Ferreira’s team remains the only undefeated team in the competition.

The game started busy. After 2 minutes, judge Raphael Claus scored a penalty for São Paulo, understanding that Mayke, from Palmeiras, had touched the ball inside the area. But, after being called by VAR, the judge annulled the bid, pointing out that the ball hit the palmeirense head before touching the hand.

Shortly after, at 10 minutes, Palmeiras opened the scoring. São Paulo’s defense did poorly, Gabriel Menino recovered the ball at the edge of the area and crossed it to make it 1-0.

From then on, the game became more tense, with tougher moves. In one of them, coach Abel Ferreira received a yellow card after an argument with Argentine Carelli, who had fouled Mayke.

In the second half, São Paulo came back better, creating chances in search of the equalizer. In one of them, defender Arboleda hit a ball on the crossbar.

Palmeiras bet on counterattacks and in one of them managed to score the second. Arboleda started playing badly, lost the ball to Breno Lopes, who passed to Endrick to hit hard in the left corner, in the 32nd minute.

São Paulo felt the second goal and was powerless to try to reduce. Also, almost saw Endrick score another, but the 16-year-old boy missed the shot. There was still time for Pablo Maia to be sent off after a foul on Breno Lopes.

Now the Brazilian Championship stops because of the Fifa date and returns on June 21st. São Paulo faces Athletico-PR, in Morumbi. Palmeiras, on the other hand, goes to Salvador to face Bahia, on the same day.
