The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD), met this Wednesday (18) with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, in Brasília, to discuss the release of two loans for the capital of Rio de Janeiro. One of the credit lines is with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), already approved, and the other is with the World Bank.

“We came to ask Minister Haddad for some speed for two financings that have already been approved. One from BNDES for Rio’s BRT system, which President Lula has already signed, but has the final stage to allow disbursement”, he said Paes after the meeting, informed the Economic value.

“The other is the financing that we do within the PEF [Programa de Equilíbrio Fiscal]which is a financing of US$ 135 million, which we have with the World Bank, which will be approved by the council on November 14th, and the Union is the guarantor, guarantor, and we need to take this to the Senate”, he added. Paes stated that Haddad viewed the demand positively.
