The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), will call on the federal government this Monday (18) to ask ministries to adopt measures to minimize the effects of the drought in the north of Minas Gerais, a region that has been facing severe drought for about 11 months.
He defends actions such as supplying corn for livestock, providing water trucks and emergency aid to families most in need, in addition to a financial recovery plan with debt renegotiation and granting of credit, especially for small and medium-sized producers.
According to the civil defense of Minas Gerais, 123 municipalities have already declared an abnormal situation due to disasters related to drought.
