Pablo is close to equaling Alex Mineiro’s mark

In 2018, the year of the first title of the South American, the player had his best performance for Furacão: with 18 goals. Only at the beginning of 2024, the athlete has already reached half of this mark.

“Last year I said that I really wanted to get through 2018. If I’m not mistaken, I scored 16 goals and in the game against Palmeiras I got injured. Then this year I decided not to talk about it, let it go”, joked the athlete.

In the victory against Cuiabá, this Sunday (14), the player scored the 49th goal at the Arena da Baixada, opened in 1999, and is just one away from equaling Alex Mineiro in second place in the stadium.

“Let things happen game after game. I always hope to be scoring and that is my biggest goal”, added the number 92.

For Atlhetico, Pablo has 70 goals in total and is in the top-10 scorers in the club’s history.

Athlete cited “cast chemistry”

The striker spoke about the quality of this season’s red and black squad. According to him, maintaining and building the team in the long term makes a difference on the field this year.

“There was a lot of good squad, it is one of the best squads. It is very competitive and has a lot of quality. From 2022 to now, the squad has been maintained and this forms a qualified team. This brings a very good identification”, stated Pablo.

“This affinity and time playing together, this chemistry makes for a qualified squad. I’m sure they will have a great year”, he added.
