One day after disembarking in Curitiba to begin his work at the Athleticocoach Juan Carlos Osorio spoke to the club’s official website about the agreement with Furacão, expectations for the club’s centenary and the arrival of more reinforcements for 2024.
O coach revealed behind the scenes of the deal with Athletico. “It was very quick, as it should be. No press. Something very private. It surprised me because it was the end of the year and initially the conversation with the president would be on the 31st, it wasn’t, and we did it on the 2nd. It was very positive for both parties. A meeting, the offer and I signed it”, highlighted the Colombian.
Regarding the 2024 season, which will have four competitions for Furacão – Campeonato Paranaense, Copa do Brasil, Sul-Americana and Brasileirão -, Osorio highlighted that he intends to rotate the squad at first.
“[Estadual] It’s an important tournament, but not the most important for the club. In Brazil, many matches are played. For all the facilities we have here (in CT), we have to work very well”, he stressed.

Finally, the coach also commented on reinforcements. “We don’t go into these details. I personally believe that there are positions around the world where it is very difficult to find players. I have always given the opportunity to the base players, I will try to mix it up”, he concluded.
Athletico’s season debut will be on the 17th, at 7:30 pm, against Andraus, at Vila Capanema.
