For 117 days, Torres was imprisoned in the 4th Military Police Battalion, in Guará (DF), on suspicion of negligence in acts against the headquarters of the Three Powers, after determination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

On January 8, the former minister was dismissed from the Security Secretariat of the Federal District, and, two days later, Moraes issued a preventive arrest order, at the request of the Federal Police (PF), but Torres was on vacation in the United States. . He was detained immediately upon arrival at Brasilia International Airport on January 14.

On May 11, Moraes considered the favorable opinion on the revocation of the former secretary’s preventive detention, presented by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). Torres is currently subject to precautionary measures, including the use of an electronic anklet.
