Opposition considers asking for Dino’s arrest for destruction of evidence

Federal deputy Maurício Marcon (Podemos-RS) revealed, this Wednesday (30), that the opposition representatives in the Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) of January 8 are evaluating the possibility of forwarding to the Attorney General of the Republic ( PGR) request for the arrest of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, due to suspicions of concealment and destruction of evidence of alleged omission by the minister during the acts of vandalism in the Praça dos Três Poderes.

As of this Tuesday afternoon (29), rumors began to circulate about the automatic deletion of images captured by the internal security cameras at the Ministry of Justice headquarters on January 8, which were requested by the CPMI more than a month ago.

Young pan, that the opposition bench has already requested clarification on the contract signed with the company responsible for security services in order to verify whether the retention of these images was foreseen for at least one year. This retention policy is similar to that adopted at the Planalto Palace and Itamaraty, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is headquartered.

The deputy from Rio Grande do Sul expresses his skepticism regarding the fact that the only images presented by Flávio Dino to the CPMI obtained from two cameras were provided by the same contracted company, without apparent edits. “It’s all very suspicious. Such a delay for the minister to deliver the images or confirm or not their existence, ”he said.

The parliamentarian points out that the pattern of responses given so far by the minister included an initial denial, followed by a consultation with Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who did not identify any problems. Subsequently, content from only two cameras was made available. This sequence of events aroused irritation from the opposition and more questions, and now there is news that the images have been deleted.

The circumstances raise suspicions, even more so when considering the context of controversial arrests related to the invasions and depredations of buildings, under the premise of avoiding the destruction of evidence. There is a clear information gap and, as Marcon insinuates, “the evidence points to the possibility of pre-planning”.

The parliamentarian also questions the fact that the Plano Escudo, a security protocol to protect the Planalto Palace, was not activated, which would allow the restoration of normality in just 25 minutes. “In addition, it is known that around 240 agents from five battalions remained inactive in the area of ​​the Ministry of Justice while the acts of vandalism were taking place”.

So far, the Ministry of Justice has not confirmed the destruction of the images, even after the release of information about it by broadcasters such as CNN Brazil and the Record TV. These reports reverberated on social networks and in the corridors of Congress. A People’s Gazette contacted the folder’s advisory to verify the veracity of the content presented in the articles, but so far has not received a response.

Deputy suggests that Dino would have selected images to be deleted

In a publication on social networks this Wednesday morning (30), deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE), suggested that Dino would have selected which images from January 8 would be revealed and which would be eliminated.

“If the images from the Ministry of Justice cameras are deleted every 15 days, how did Flávio Dino manage to send the images from two of MJ’s cameras on 1/8 to the CPMI? First Dino handpicked which images to send, then deleted the others images committing CRIME!”, declared the parliamentarian.
