Students demand the return of the automatic trigger; hiring 1,683 teachers, based on the 2014 student-teacher ratio; end of the merit and competition notice; that no course closes; that quotas for black and brown people and also indigenous people be instituted in competitions and; the hiring of administrative technicians.
The dean of USP, Carlos Gilberto Cartolli, informed the press that, between 2014 and 2022, the institution lost 879 professors. Even after the dean announced the hiring of new teachers, the students decided to continue the strike.
