Collegiate body will be installed on Tuesday (12) and there will be an alignment meeting in the office of senator Omar Aziz (PSD)
Brasilia DF) – The Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) that will investigate the subsidence of soil in Maceió, caused by the exploration of rock salt by Braskem, had its installation date defined by the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD).
The collegiate will be installed next Tuesday (12), at 3 pm. Earlier, a meeting will take place in the office of senator Omar Aziz (PSD), considered for the presidency of the collegiate.
Last Thursday (7), party leaders indicated the missing names. Pacheco read the request for the creation of the CPI in Plenary in October.
To date, nine senators have been nominated, including the author of the CPI himself, Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), of the 11 incumbents necessary for the installation of the CPI: Efraim Filho (União-PB), Cid Gomes (PDT-CE), Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), Rodrigo Cunha (Podemos-AL), Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO), Eduardo Gomes (PL-TO) and Wellington Fagundes (PL-MT). Among the substitutes are Magno Malta (PL-ES), Fernando Farias (MDB-AL), Cleitinho (Republicanos-MG), Leila Barros (PDT-DF) and Jayme Campos (União-MT).
The PP of the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (AL), appointed Dr. Hiran (RR) and the Parliamentary Democracy blocs – composed of MDB, União, Podemos, PDT – and Democratic Resistance – formed by PT, PSD, PSB – still must indicate one and two members, respectively. With the majority of nominees reached, the collegiate can be installed, but work is scheduled to begin on February 1, 2024, upon the return of the parliamentary recess.
Calheiros is at the center of a political dispute with Lira. In Alagoas, the deputy is close to the mayor of Maceió, João Henrique Caldas (PL), the JHC, while the senator is close to his supporter Paulo Dantas (MDB).
