Last Monday (17), the Federal Council of the OAB paid homage to the Minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and National Inspector of Justice, Luis Felipe Salomão, during a session of the Full Council.
“It is a fair tribute to those who always keep the doors of their office open to the advocacy. Institutional dialogue is important for the improvement of advocacy, justice and, consequently, society as a whole”, said Beto Simonetti, president of the OAB.
Salomão said that the homage should be understood as a deference to the bodies in which he works, the STJ and the CNJ.
“This is an opportunity to render accounts to the Board, bring up issues that we deal with in Internal Affairs and from which we receive input and suggestions from the law firm, which are always very welcome.”
“I have a list of claims that were presented to me, some of which have already been met. At the end of the term, I want to make a reckoning to show what was resolved”, he said.
According to Marcus Vinicius Furtado Coêlho, president of the National Commission for Constitutional Studies, “Minister Salomão’s sensitivity to advocacy guidelines is a hallmark of his work at the Superior Court of Justice”.
“He is always attentive and willing to dialogue with male and female lawyers, always dedicated and uncompromising in defending the Democratic State of Law, in improving the jurisdictional provision and in the effectiveness of justice.”
A lifelong honorary member, Coêlho recalled Salomão’s participation in the judgment that established the understanding for calculating the fees for succumbing, in March last year. He highlighted the CNJ’s definition for judges to act in person, a plea defended by the OAB.
