Rio Grande do Sul deputies Marcel van Hattem (federal) and Felipe Camozzato (state), both from Novo, launched a manifesto that proposes the “defense of freedom of expression” after Elon Musk’s public criticism of minister Alexandre de Moraes’ decisions.
The initiative is also supported by the vice-mayor of Porto Alegre (RS), Ricardo Gomes, from PL. The manifesto was posted on the website
Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), stated that he was “lifting restrictions” imposed by court decision on his network and argued that Moraes should resign or be impeached. He was included this Sunday (7) as being investigated in the digital militias investigation by order of the minister.
In the manifesto, the politicians state that “Brazil is going through a crucial moment. Either our voices will be heard, or our fragile democracy will die.” They also call for Moraes’ impeachment.
