The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, and the state governor, Clécio Luís, They were on the morning of this Saturday, the 13th, in Oiapoque, for the official launch of the Month of Vaccination of Indigenous Peoples, which took place in the Kuhaí village, land of the uaçás, in that municipality of Amapá, and formalization of documentation for the construction of a border laboratory.
More than one hundred people are served during the day, in the action that should continue to other communities in Amapá and northern Pará. The campaign is carried out by the Special Indigenous Health District (Dsei). In addition to immunization with various types of vaccines, health services are offered by multidisciplinary teams.
Governor Clécio spoke of the satisfaction of welcoming Minister Nísia to Oiapoque, for the launch of Indigenous Peoples Vaccination Month, and at the same time signing a contract for the construction of a laboratory on the border of Oiapoque with French Guiana.
Also present on the occasion were the mayor of Oiapoque, Breno Lima de Almeida; the minister of integration and regional development, Waldez Góes; senator Randolfe Rodrigues and the federal deputy Dorinaldo Malafaia, in addition to indigenous leaders, among others.
Minister Nísia Trindade noted that she was stepping on Oiapoque soil for the first time, and said that this was a source of great satisfaction for her, given that the municipality is of strategic importance for Brazil.
Nísia spoke of the importance of vaccination among indigenous people and added that this Saturday, throughout Brazil, vaccination against the flu is also taking place. Finally, she mentioned the contract for a Border Laboratory, highlighting that it is an important work for the projection of surveillance and health research in the far north of the country.
