New transmission and distribution line will improve power quality for three municipalities in Amapá – News of Brazil

This Tuesday, the 4th, the Government of Amapá delivered environmental licenses for the installation of electricity distribution and transmission lines to the companies Equatorial and Energiza, during a ceremony at Casa do Artesão, in the municipality of Porto Grande, 102 kilometers from capital. The services should generate more than 3,000 direct jobs.
The goal is to modernize and expand the energy system, avoiding blackouts, power outages and interruptions, benefiting around 40,000 residents of Pedra Branca, Porto Grande, Serra do Navio and Macapá.
It will be a distribution line, and a transmission line. to the governor Clecio Luis, the delivery symbolizes a step forward for the state, providing energy security, which is one of the factors that large companies seek when setting up in Amapá.
“We came to deliver the environmental licenses for the works that are taking place in the energy area in Amapá. These are authorizations for CEA Equatorial to expand its network. A very important work that replaces a transmission line that is about 70 years old. And these works all together generate about 3 thousand direct jobs”highlighted the governor.
The investment generates prospects for the development of energy security. This means that the State is also offering legal, environmental and political security for companies to settle in Amapá.
The license granted to Equatorial Energia aims to implement a 138 KV Distribution Line from the Coaracy Nunes Hydroelectric Power Plant, in Ferreira Gomes, to the municipality of Porto Grande, totaling a length of 29.3 km, called Section I.
This work will guarantee the modernization of one of the oldest transmission lines in Brazil, with more than 70 years of existence, which has the Central Substation (SE Central) as its source.
It is estimated that the improvements will benefit more than 40,000 people, 22,000 in Porto Grande, 17,000 in Pedra Branca do Amapari and 5,000 in Serra do Navio, according to the Secretary of State for the Environment (Sema).
“Sema has been working on an internal restructuring and reorganization so that we can, in fact, guarantee the development of the state in a sustainable and responsible way. And the delivery of these licenses demonstrates the seriousness of the Government in seeking policies to flow in these processes, to give results for those who want to come to Amapá to invest”, highlighted the Secretary of Environment, Taisa Mendonca.
Investments in the modernization and expansion of the energy network add up to approximately R$ 130 million. “We are very happy with this moment. This will guarantee energy security for people from Amapa and for large companies that want to set up shop in our municipality and in our state. I could not fail to represent the people of Porto Grande in this very symbolic event”he said Nainha Santana, councilor of the municipality of Porto Grande.
The State Government also issued a preliminary license to the company Energisa Amapá Transmissora de Energia SA, for the installation of a transmission line almost 10 kilometers long that will connect Macapá Substations 3 and 1, with 230 KV. The work should be completed by 2025. Also participating in the ceremony were the vice-governor, Teles Junior, and municipal authorities.
