Entity that represents groups that make the so-called “lobby”, Abrig (Brazilian Association of Institutional and Governmental Relations) sent a letter to the Chamber of Deputies complaining about the fact that it had not received new credentials to be able to transit through the House.

According to the entity, the credentials issued last year expired last Friday (31) and have not yet been renewed.

Last week, Abrig sent a letter to Deputy Luciano Bivar (União-PE), first secretary of the Chamber, asking for an audience and information regarding the credentials.

“As a result of complaints from our directors and associates regarding denials in accreditation and difficulty in obtaining information about the reason for refusals when the applicant meets the requirements demanded by the internal regulations, we request clarification on how this first secretary will proceed to provide and skilful analysis of them”, states the document.

Denied credentials are for Abrig directors and entities affiliated with the association.

Founded in 2007, Abrig is the main organization that represents professionals responsible for government and institutional relations in the country, a function often referred to as “lobbying”.

For years there has been a discussion in Congress to regulate the profession, which today operates without defined rules.

Sought, Bivar did not appear until the publication of this note.
