Manaus (AM) – The City of Manaus informs that two of the Mobile Women’s Health Units will begin to serve in new bases from Monday (18). The structures of the itinerant service, managed by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa), offer basic assistance procedures and services, with an emphasis on prenatal care and screening for breast cancer and cervical cancer.

One of the mobile service units will serve the female public in the South Health District (Disa) area, starting on Monday. The structure will be located in the parking lot of the Family Health Unit (USF) Nilton Lins, at Avenida Professor Nilton Lins, 2344, Flores neighborhood, with regular operation expected at the location until March 22nd.

The mobile unit will also be in the USF Nilton Lins area on the morning of the day (23), as part of the “D-Day” of the Lilac March. The initiative, which is part of the cervical cancer prevention month program, will include health education actions and reinforcement of the offer of prevention and screening services in the itinerant structure and in three other units of the basic health network, in the South Zones and West.

Another unit will be moved to offer care to the female population also in the Disa Sul area, starting on Monday. The structure will be based at Avenida Duque de Caxias, 2.085, Praça 14 neighborhood, in the parking lot of the Assembly of God Traditional church. Services at the address will continue until March 28th.

In the West zone, the Mobile Women’s Health Unit, currently located on Rua Baré, corner of Rua das Estrelas, Tarumã-Açu neighborhood, next to USF Parque das Tribos, continues with services on site. The service should remain at the address until the 22nd.

Reinforcement of assistance

In operation for eight months, Semsa’s Mobile Women’s Health Units aim to expand the female population’s access to basic health care services and procedures, especially in the neediest regions and areas with a lack of care, with reinforcement of pre-service care. -natal and in the prevention and screening of cervical and breast cancer.

The mobile service offers exclusive service for women, from Monday to Friday, on weekdays, from 7am to 5pm. Services must be scheduled at the units themselves, upon presentation of an identity document and Unified Health System (SUS) card.

Among others, the catalog of services available in the structures includes medical and nursing consultations, prenatal care, mammography, ultrasound, reproductive planning, collection and preventive examination, medication dispensing and rapid tests to detect Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). .
