New minister says she will take Flamengo’s flag to the STJ – 11/01/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The new minister of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) Daniela Teixeira was honored by Flamengo players and received a flag signed by members of the team this Wednesday (1st).

The red-and-black club arrived in Brasília to play a Brasileirão game against Santos, an occasion that was used to hold the meeting, hosted at the hotel where the team is staying.

Nominated to the second most important court in the country by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Teixeira had her name approved by the Federal Senate last week, after around five hours of hearing.

“It was sweatier than the Flamengo game today”, joked the future minister, in conversation with the squad. The team’s president, Rodolfo Landim, and lawyers Marcos Meira and Ronald Barbosa were present.

Before going through the screening of senators, an essential step to reach the STJ, Teixeira had been reprimanding those who referred to her as a minister. “Minister, no. Flamengo fan”, she joked.

Asked by the column about where he intends to display the autographed flag he received from Flamengo, Teixeira responded promptly, by message: “In the office, of course! Next to the flag of Brazil and the OAB [Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil].”

Born in Brasília, the now former lawyer returned her Bar card in a ceremony held at the Federal District branch, on Thursday (26).

His inauguration at the STJ is scheduled for November 22nd. In addition to her, on the same day, judges José Afrânio Vilela and Teodoro Silva Santos, both nominated by Lula, will be sworn in as ministers.
