Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), Senate rapporteur for the project for the new fiscal framework, says that the text should be voted on by the 20th with at least 60 votes from the 81 congressmen.

Aziz claims that there are senators who intend to tighten the parameters of the new fiscal rule more, and that there are others willing to loosen them, but that there will be discussion to approve the project.

“The Senate is a reviewing house, but rest assured it will have discussions. Some are more flexible, and others will want to tighten more, tighten more, but we will reach the common denominator”, he said in an interview with CNN Brasil this Sunday (4).

Still according to the senator, the report by deputy Cláudio Cajado (PP-BA), rapporteur in the Chamber, pleased most senators. Aziz also explained that Congress “does not have the right” to stall the vote.

“No one is against the framework. There are those who have disagreements, whether it is the ceiling or not. But this is history,” he added.
