Pé-de-meia plans to pay up to R$9,200 for each student who completes high school. Therefore, the benefit will be granted: When student enrolls at the beginning of the year: R$ 200, in a single installment; If the student presents adequate school attendance (above 80% of school hours): total of R$1,800, which will be paid in 9 installments of R$200. The 10 monthly deposits (including registration) will be paid in March to June and August to December; There is no provision for retroactive payments: students who are in the 3rd or 2nd year will not receive amounts referring to previous stages taken in 2023 or 2022. 💵 In addition to the monthly installments, there will also be a bonus: for each academic year completed successfully, the student will also have R$1,000 deposited in a savings account. According to the MEC, two thirds of this amount can be used as soon as received. “The other third will be saved for withdrawal when the student graduates from the last stage of basic education”, states the MEC. The student who takes the Enem at the end of the 3rd year will also receive R$200 in a single installment. The amounts will be deposited into an account in the name of the beneficiary student, of a personal and non-transferable nature, which may be of the digital social savings type. There will be two forms of deposit, with different movement rules: ➡️ In the first, deposits will occur monthly, throughout each academic year, for students who enroll and prove the minimum attendance in classes. These amounts can be moved at any time, that is, withdrawn, invested in public securities or kept in savings. ➡️ In the second, regarding bonuses for passing the school year and participation in Enem, the amounts will only be transferred at the end of high school. 4. What are the requirements to receive it? The amounts from the Pé-de-Meia Program will only be deposited into the bank accounts of low-income public high school students. The government defined the target audience as “low-income students enrolled in regular high school in public schools and belonging to families enrolled in the Bolsa Família Program.” To receive it, students must: have a CPF; be registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico); the system is already used to access Bolsa Família; be enrolled at the beginning of the school year; achieve school attendance of at least 80% of school hours; participate in the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb). To receive the benefit, students must present the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF). The document is “a database” managed by the Federal Revenue Service, used for various purposes – whether for identification, declaring Income Tax or for purchasing and contracting services. There is no minimum age for registration and each person can only register once. In other words, the CPF number is unique and definitive for each person. A member of the family must contact the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras) in the municipality where they live. This person, who must be at least 16 years old, will be responsible for providing information about all family members. However, before looking for Cras, it is necessary to download the Cadastro Único App from the cell phone app store and pre-register. This service is also available on the internet. At the time of registration, the representative must present at least one of the following documents for each person in the family: Birth Certificate; Wedding certificate; CPF; Identity Card – RG; Work Card; Voter ID; Administrative Register of Indigenous Birth (RANI) – only if the person is indigenous. 7. Will EJA students be entitled to a nest egg? Those enrolled in Education for Youth and Adults (EJA) can also take part in the program, as long as they are between 19 and 24 years old. In their case, the bonus will be paid if they take the National Examination for Certification of Skills for Young People and Adults (Encceja). “The parameters for eligibility, verification of conditionalities, granting and payment of incentives to students enrolled in youth and adult education (EJA) will be regulated in an act by the Minister of Education”, stated the government. 8. Can the Nest Egg be added to other social benefits? ➡️ The money that will be paid to students will not be included in the calculation of per capita family income (that is, no family will no longer be entitled to Bolsa Família because of the funds deposited by Pé-de-Meia). ➡️ The bill, approved in December, prohibited students with disabilities from receiving the Nest Egg and the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) at the same time.
