Negroni Week 2023 presents original versions and a course on the drink

Starting this Monday (18), the whole world celebrates the tradition and authenticity of a century-old and increasingly popular drink: the Negroni. For a week, Negroni Week brings together enthusiasts of this cocktail and connects the bartending industry by proposing the creation of new original versions of the drink, the most consumed in the world in 2021, according to the Drinks International platform.

Invented in 1919 by Count Negroni – who asked to add a touch of gin instead of soda to his Americano – the Negroni has never failed to win new admirers, thanks to the balanced and simple combination of just three ingredients, in three equal parts: Campari , red vermouth and gin.

Created in 2013 by Campari and Imbibe Magazine with the aim of strengthening cocktail culture and raising money for charitable causes around the world, this year’s Negroni Week brings together, in Brazil alone, 150 bars in the states of São Paulo , Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Sergipe.

In Curitiba, nine establishments participate in Negroni Week with original creations of the cocktail based on the iconic bitter Italian, in addition to the traditional recipe, of course! In some of the participating bars, when purchasing two Negronis, the customer receives a snack to pair with. The program also includes a workshop on the history of the drink over the years, with guided tasting. Check it out below!

In addition to the traditional Negroni, the original version created by Mykola will be available, with Asian influences: called Kaigan, the cocktail also contains Campari, Rosso vermouth and gin, but all ingredients are infused with nori seaweed and umeboshi (a type of Japanese plum). ).
