Humaitá Public Prosecutor’s Office determined the preparation of an initial petition for a Civil Action for administrative impropriety

Humaitá (AM) – The Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM), through the 1st Public Prosecutor’s Office of Humaitá, decided to file a Public Civil Action for administrative impropriety against the Mayor of the Municipality. The measure is based on a Civil Inquiry instituted to investigate a complaint made by the Associação Transparência Humaitá, regarding irregularities in a vehicle rental contract signed by the Municipality of Humaitá.

Processes (No. 159/2017 and 17/2017) deal with the leasing of a motor vehicle, with four doors and capacity for five passengers, in order to meet the needs of the Land Sector of the Municipality of Humaitá.

During the course of the investigation, the holder of the 1st Public Prosecutor’s Office of Humaitá, Public Prosecutor Weslei Machado, verified that there was a simulation of a bidding process, with the contracting of the rent with a certain businessman and making the respective payments to another person, namely the owner of the vehicle that provided services to the Land Sector of the Humaitá City Hall.

“In addition to the fraud in the contract, we also verified the payment of more than the contracted amount, in the amount of R$ 6.3 thousand. As a result, I determined that a draft of the initial petition for a Civil Action be drawn up for an act of administrative impropriety due to illicit enrichment and violation of public administration principles”,

declared the Public Prosecutor.
