MP-SP will monitor investigation into collective rape by PMs in Guarujá – 03/01/2024 – Panel

The Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo appointed a prosecutor to monitor a police investigation opened to investigate accusations of gang rape against a woman allegedly committed by police officers in Guarujá.
The statement was made by the Special Secretary for Criminal Policies of the Public Ministry, Daniela Favaro, to state deputy Beth Sahão (PT), who made the complaint at the beginning of February.
Prosecutor Mariana Gouveia will be responsible for monitoring the investigation. The case would have occurred in August 2023, at a party at a house in the coastal city.
The 33-year-old woman says she was drugged and then sexually assaulted by 12 men, 11 of them police officers.
