Senator Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos-RS) called the Lula government’s decision to close the National Program of Civic-Military Schools (Pecim) “revanchist”. The initiative was launched during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), when Mourão was Vice President of the Republic.

“The revanchist decision of the PT government, in opting for the closure of the civic-military school program in Brazil, cannot be forgotten!”, said the former vice-president at the twitter. This Monday, (10), official letters informing the joint decision of the Ministries of Education and Defense began to be delivered to the states. After the decision, some states consider maintaining the initiative.

“These people take away from children the greatest wealth, a quality education. It deprives children of the opportunity to build a better future, based on a pedagogical proposal that encompasses content training together with moral and civic training, generating better citizens for the country. Where is the union and reconstruction, I only see destruction!”, added the senator.
