The Chamber of Deputies postponed this Wednesday (12) the installation of the special commission that will analyze the Amnesty PEC until August. Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) 9/23 prohibits the application of sanctions to political parties that did not comply with sex or race quotas in the last elections. The proposal also provides amnesty for subtitles with irregularities in accountability.
The special commission was expected to be installed this Wednesday, but the meeting time coincided with the session of the National Congress. The proposal was approved by the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission (CCJ) in May and still needs to be analyzed by the special commission and by the plenary of the Chamber, before going to the Senate, informed Agência Câmara.
According to the text, sanctions, including fines or suspension of the Party Fund and the Special Campaign Financing Fund, will not be applied to parties that did not meet the minimum quota of resources due to gender and race in the 2022 and previous elections.
