Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) presented a request to unarchive the project that obliges the President of the Republic to choose the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) from the triple list presented by the National Association of Attorneys of the Republic (ANPR) .

Moro got 27 signatures for a block of seven proposals linked to the fight against corruption to be processed again, reported Folha de S. Paulo. “We rescued good bills that were on file, including the triple list for choosing an independent PGR and the one that promotes integrity and compliance mechanisms in political parties. I know it will be difficult, but I’m not running away from the fight”, said the senator, in the twitter.

PEC 25/2020 on the triple list was presented by former Senator Lasier Martins (Podemos-RS). President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has already signaled that he may not choose the new PGR from the triple list. In previous terms, Lula chose to choose names indicated on the list by prosecutors. In September of this year, the second term of office of the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, will end.
