The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes determined that all requests involving prisoners for acts of vandalism on January 8, including requests for visits, must be sent and authorized by him. Moraes is rapporteur for the investigations that investigate those responsible for the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the three Powers. The order is dated February 17, but was published this Thursday (23), reported the Estadão.

“The investigations that are being carried out, as well as the diligences that are in progress, are being processed in the STF under secrecy, which is why any requests formulated that are related to the arrests carried out due to the facts that occurred on 1/8/2023, must be sent directly to this rapporteur”, he pointed out.

Those detained for the acts of the 8th are in the Papuda and Colmeia penitentiary complexes, in Brasília. The minister pointed out that the ordinance of the Criminal Execution Court of the Federal District (VEP-DF) that provides for visits to those in custody does not apply to the prisoners in question.

“Likewise, exclusively with regard to the arrests made on 01/08/2023 by decision of this Supreme Court, Ordinance VEP 008/2026, issued by the Judges of the Court of Criminal Executions of the Federal District, in the which conflicts with this decision, which is why the entry of any person into the prison, in relation to the aforementioned prisons, must be expressly and previously authorized by this rapporteur, entry is prohibited without said express authorization and any decisions of the VEP Judgment are revoked /DF and provisions of SEAPE/DF in a sense different from that decided here”, wrote the minister.
