Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), ordered the blocking of channels and profiles of podcaster Bruno Monteiro Aiub, known as Monark, on the grounds that he has been disclosing fraudulent information.

Moraes had already blocked Monark accounts after the January 8 coup attacks, but the podcaster created new accounts.

In a decision signed this Tuesday (13), the minister ordered the blocking of pages on Discord, Meta (Instagram and Facebook), Rumble, Telegram and Twitter.

“It becomes necessary, adequate and urgent to interrupt the possible spread of speeches with hateful content, subversion of order and encouragement to break institutional and democratic normality by blocking accounts on social networks, with the aim of interrupting the injury or threat to the right “, said Moraes.

He mentions a Rumble broadcast in which he says the Supreme “is willing to ensure non-transparency in the election”.

“We see the TSE [Tribunal Superior Eleitoral] censoring people, we see Alexandre de Moraes arresting people, do you see a lot of things happening and, at the same time, they prevent the transparency of the polls? You get suspicious, what is going on at the polls there?”, said Monark at the time.

“Why? Why doesn’t our political system want to let the Brazilian people have more security? What’s the interest? Manipulating the polls? Manipulating the elections?”, asked the podcaster.

In the blocking decision, Moraes also determined that Monark refrain from publishing or promoting the “sharing of fraudulent news (fake news) subject to this decision”, under penalty of a daily fine of R$ 10,000 in case of non-compliance.
