The meeting of minister Alexandre de Moraes with the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District had a moral lesson by the magistrate against the thesis of blackout on January 8, mention of the accusation of communist made by radicals and malaise about the camp in front of the barracks – General of the Army.

Moraes drew praise from parliamentarians from different parties for his helpfulness and good humor — a day later, many were still repeating one of his lines that a secret between two people is only kept if both have something to lose.

“I want to publicly highlight here the courtly manner, why not say, the very urban one, with which the minister… Even the affection he had with all of us”, said the president of the CPI, Chico Vigilante (PT), in March 30, counting that the parliamentarians were received by Moraes at the cabinet door.

Other moments of the closed meeting also escaped in the last session of the CPI.

Parliamentarians said that the minister refuted the speech of the commission’s rapporteur, the deputy and military police Hermeto (MDB), that the attack on the headquarters of the Three Powers was the result of a generalized blackout in the federal and DF governments.

“He [Moraes] said: ‘I in charge of such an operation, with 50 riot fighters, with shields, with weapons at the height of what I would need there, those acts would not have happened'”, Vigilante told the CPI after reflecting on whether the minister had asked secret about some part of the meeting.

Hermeto also recalled what Moraes had said during his testimony on the 30th. “Really, 50 well-prepared men and all… But the Military Police always work with the surprise factor, you hear, Deputy Chico Vigilante?”, said Hermeto, justifying his position.

“Minister Alexandre de Moraes was very solicitous with this CPI. I found it very interesting. He even said that he even accompanies the CPI, when he can. He spoke of the useful innocent. less, but he will be punished”, said the deputy.

According to reports, Moraes also praised the Army’s collaboration with the investigations and the position of the STM (Superior Military Court) for not having opposed the decision to bring to the STF the trial of the military personnel who participated in the attack on the headquarters of the Three Powers.

The minister was questioned by district deputies about the number of security guards at the Supreme Court on January 8. According to reports, Moraes justified that there was information that access to the Esplanada dos Ministérios would be closed and said that the Court does not have riot police.

Sought by the report, Paula Belmonte denied discomfort with the minister. The district’s press office said that it is in favor of freedom of demonstration, against generalizations, and insists on the position that not everyone who was camped participated in the attack on the institutions.
