The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes authorized this Thursday (17) the breach of banking and tax secrecy of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro.
The magistrate responded to a request made by the Federal Police last week, informed the portal g1 and the GloboNews. On the last 11th, the PF launched Operation Lucas 12:2 to investigate the receipt of official gifts by the Bolsonaro government, including sets of Saudi jewelry, which were not incorporated into the Union’s assets.
The PF suspects that those being investigated would have used the government structure to “misappropriate goods of high patrimonial value, delivered by foreign authorities in official missions to representatives of the Brazilian State, through the sale of these items abroad”.
Earlier, Moraes also authorized the request for international cooperation made by the PF to ask the United States to break the bank secrecy of the accounts that those investigated in the Saudi jewelry case have in Florida.
