BASIC ATTENTION

Starting next Wednesday (25), the units will be repositioned and will return to work in new locations

Manaus (AM) – Until this Friday (20), the Mobile Women’s Health Units serve residents of the Nova Floresta communities, in the Jorge Teixeira neighborhood, East zone, and in Parque Riachuelo, in Tarumã, West zone. The structures managed by the City of Manaus, through the Municipal Health Department (Semsa), will be repositioned and will return to work in new locations in their respective areas of operation, starting next Wednesday (25).

The itinerant structure that serves the North zone will continue offering services to residents of the Santa Etelvina neighborhood next week, also starting on Wednesday. There will be no service in the three women’s health care units on Monday and Tuesday, October 23 and 24, due to the celebrations for Manaus’ 354th anniversary.

The mobile structure in the West zone will serve, until this Friday, users of the Parque Riachuelo community, located on Rua Beija-Flor Vermelho, in the Tarumã neighborhood. After the displacement, the unit will return to activities on October 25th, at the Magdalena Arce Daou Family Community Center, on Avenida Brasil, s/nº, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood.

In the East zone, the itinerant unit focused on women’s health takes place until October 20th in the Nova Floresta community, located close to the Divino Pimenta Faleiros municipal school, on Avenida Topázio, in the Jorge Teixeira neighborhood. The mobile set will be repositioned in the same community, now on Rua Ágatas, Tancredo Neves neighborhood, where it will start operating next Wednesday.

The Mobile Women’s Health Unit in the North zone, in turn, remains located on Dorgival Azarias de Albuquerque street, in the Santa Etelvina neighborhood. The structure is expected to remain in place until Friday (27).

Services and procedures

Opened at the end of July, the Mobile Women’s Health Units offer health services and procedures in neighborhoods and communities in the East, North and West zones, exclusively for the female population. Services always take place from Monday to Friday, on weekdays, from 7am to 5pm.

The structures’ service portfolio includes medical and nursing consultations, including prenatal care, collection of preventive exams, mammography, various ultrasound exams and medication dispensing, among others.

In just under three months of operation, from the 25th (North) and 26th of July (East and West) until Wednesday, October 18th, the three units carried out 27,131 procedures, including 2,158 mammograms; 2,694 preventive exam collections; 9,358 ultrasound exams, of which 1,436 were breast; and 10,028 consultations, of which 6,225 were medical and 3,803 were nursing.

The itinerant structures are part of Semsa Manaus’ strategy to strengthen prevention and health promotion actions aimed at the female public, with an emphasis on prenatal care and early diagnosis of breast and uterine cancer, and to expand coverage of basic care, facilitating access to health among residents of areas most in need of these services.
