Ministry of Women launches notice for the purchase of electronic anklets – 11/01/2023 – Panel

The Ministry of Women launched this Wednesday (1st) a notice to allocate R$1.5 million to states that want to purchase electronic ankle bracelets and other portable tracking units that can be used in urgent protective measures under the Maria da Lei Penha.
States can register until the 17th. Proposals must be completed and sent via the Transferegov platform. According to the ministry, the initiative is in line with the Programa Mulher Viver sem Violência, launched in March, and the National Pact to Prevent Femicides, from August.
Data from 2022 from the Brazilian Public Security Yearbook points to a 13.7% increase in the granting of urgent protective measures since 2021, reaching 445,456.
