The Minister of Tourism, Daniela Carneiro, and five federal deputies from the Rio deputies asked to leave União Brasil. They would have called the Electoral Justice to request the disaffiliation for “just cause” due to alleged “harassment” by the national leadership, reported the newspaper O Globo.

The party, led by Luciano Bivar, is facing an internal political dispute in several states, with the password cut, which allows moving the party fund, and accusations of fraud, according to the publication. The action would have been filed at the Electoral Justice on the last day 6.

This Monday (10), the president of the Rio de Janeiro directory of União Brasil and husband of the Minister of Tourism, Waguinho, would also have asked to leave the caption. Waguinho is mayor of Belford Roxo, in Baixada Fluminense. In addition to Daniela Carneiro, deputies Chiquinho Brazão, Juninho do Pneu, Marcos Soares, Ricardo Abrão and Dani Cunha also asked to leave the party.

Deputies depend on authorization from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) for disaffiliation or they may lose their mandate. In the action, they argue that Bivar uses “authoritarian expedients” in the states to maintain political control within the party.
