One of the PT’s strategic objectives for the year is to permanently monitor the social networks of the extreme right in Brazil and around the world.
The topic will be addressed at a national communication seminar that the party will hold next Thursday (13) and Friday (14) in Brasília.
Specialists in monitoring these groups, researchers Fernanda Sarkis and Marcus Nogueira will talk about “Functioning of transnational networks and their relationship with Brazil in the policy of formation of fake news”.
Sarkis is a master in communication, and Nogueira, a sociologist. Last year, both carried out a mapping of right-wing networks mainly in Portugal, but also in countries such as Spain, Italy and the USA.
They ended up providing services to the presidential campaign of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The PT is considering hiring them now for a kind of consultancy on the subject.
“It is no longer enough to monitor these networks, today any program does that. The point is to analyze the data, study behaviors, see the history, have something deeper”, says the party’s Communications secretary, Jilmar Tatto.
The seminar will also discuss ways to integrate communication between all levels of the party and the federal government, in addition to presenting a survey carried out by the Vox Populi institute on the PT’s image.
