The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Kassio Nunes Marques was in consultation at a hospital in Asa Sul, Brasília, to monitor complications of a revisional bariatric surgery. The minister was assessed at the DF Star Hospital this Sunday, according to a spokesperson for the institution. He’s already home.

Nunes Marques performed revisional bariatric surgery at a hospital in São Paulo on February 16. The surgery is a revision or adjustment to the previous bariatric procedure, which the minister had in 2012. He has a drain that should be removed soon.

According to the medical bulletin released by the DF Star Hospital, the minister is progressing well, with no signs of infection and the drain is expected to be removed in the next few days. The note is signed by cardiologist Ludhmila Hajjar, head of the hospital team, who was among candidates to take over the Ministry of Health in the management of Jair Bolsonaro in 2021.

The hospital clarified that Nunes Marques was not hospitalized and that he goes to the hospital daily because of the drain and that he undergoes tests twice a week. The minister’s outpatient treatment is in a doctor’s office. The STF also stated that the minister has attended sessions in person in recent weeks.
