The minister of agrarian development and family farming, Paulo Teixeira, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Communication System, on the morning of this Monday, 28th, excitedly said that he is inserted in this very positive moment in which Amapá lives, with important leaders on the national scene, having mentioned the minister of integration and regional development, Waldez Góes, and senator Randolfe Rodrigues, leader of the union government in the National Congress.

“We cannot miss this chance, because life does not give you another chance when you miss the greatest one”, philosophized Paulo Teixeira, after on the same occasion, by telephone, Senator Randolfe Rodrigues and Governor Clécio Luís had spoken. The minister of integration and regional development, Waldez Góes, closed the interviews, succeeding the MDA holder.

The authorities’ participation in the LuizMeloEntrevista program (Diário FM 90.9) took place before the ceremony at the Fazendinha Exhibition Park, where minister Paulo Peixeira launched the Crop Plan for Family Agriculture in Amapá. This federal government measure affects the entire country.

Randolfe informed that on Sunday (27), at the Palácio do Setentrião, Minister Paulo Teixeira guaranteed the delivery of definitive land titles to the quilombola communities of Amapá, all represented at the meeting which was also attended by the senator and governor Clécio, in addition to the head of regional integration and development portfolio, Waldez Góes, and other authorities.

The senator also referred to the support that the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture has been giving to the indigenous people of Oiapoque, who are in crisis with the plague that attacked their cassava plantations. In addition, as another MDA action in the state, Randolfe mentioned the Constitutional Financing Fund of the North (FNO), this time also extended to family farming.

Governor Clécio Luís noted that the MDA’s support for the indigenous peoples of Oiapoque is the result of management carried out by him and Senator Randolfe, 28 days ago, with Minister Paulo Teixeira, in Brasília. The manager explained that the aid is not only phytosanitary, but also humanitarian, which is now starting to be taken to the communities surrounding the indigenous villages, areas that are also already affected by the plague.

Minister Paulo Teixeira said that President Lula’s order is to ensure that the Crop Plan makes Brazil produce food, abundantly and with quality, respecting the food culture of each region. He informed that the plan for family farming has 77 billion reais, and that at this first moment R$ 100 million already belongs to Amapá, to be worked on by the ministry of Waldez Góes, through the FNO.

The holder of the MDA, encouraging small farmers, announced that microcredits with half a percent interest will be released, but if there is payment on time there will be a 40% discount. “It is a way to strengthen the small farmer. We are going to carry out a joint effort with Basa, to make the credit reach there at the end, so that it produces more food”, promised Paulo Teixeira.

Then, the minister said: “We want the settler not only to have land, but also technical assistance to work the land, and financing”, to conclude by informing that he is in contact with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES ), to design a program with cooperatives to bring food to schools.

Minister Waldez Góes, of Integration and Regional Development, highlighted the presidential orientation, on a transversal action among the ministries. According to him, this transversality will happen immediately in the issue of microcredits to small farmers, via FNO.

Waldez informed that the Crop Plan for Family Agriculture has R$ 1.2 billion for the Amazon region, with 100 million immediately for Amapá, transferred to the responsibility of the state government. To speed up the release of microcredits, the minister said that efforts are being made for Basa to open another branch in Amapá.
