Minister Celso Sabino (Tourism) coordinates with his colleague Paulo Pimenta (Secom) a campaign to promote abroad the image that Brazil is a safe country to receive tourists.

The idea is to explore data from a recent survey carried out by the insurance company Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, linked to investor Warren Buffett.

The survey indicated that Brazil went from 42nd position in 2023 to 15th in 2024, which classified the country as a safe destination for tourists to travel.

The ministers saw the survey results as an opportunity to increase the number of foreign tourists this year and try to break the barrier of 6.3 million foreigners.

“A large insurance company, especially a North American one, takes its calculations to determine the value of a policy very seriously. This insurer gathered data from other institutions and interviewed travelers to arrive at this ranking. And an interesting fact: Brazil is safe for LGBTQIA+ travelers and in terms of health measures”, says the minister.

The Minister of Tourism also called on Itamaraty to mobilize embassies on the issue of investments in the country.
