Milei’s mentor will receive an award at a liberal event in RS – 03/11/2024 – Panel

Intellectual guru of the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, the ultraliberal economist Alberto Benegas Lynch, 83, will be honored at the 37th edition of the Freedom Forum, an event organized by the IEE (Institute of Business Studies) and which takes place on April 4th and 5th , in Porto Alegre (RS).

President of the IEE, Fernanda Estivallet Ritter says that Lynch has “a very intense activity as an intellectual and academic” and “is one of the precursors and disseminators of the ideals of freedom and liberalism in Latin America”. At the Forum, Lynch will receive the Libertas Award.

With a PhD in Economics and Management Sciences, Lynch was also an economic advisor to the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange. In the Argentine presidential campaign last year, he was constantly mentioned by Milei.

Speakers at the Freedom Forum also include Helio Beltrão, founder of the Millenium Institute; Fernando Ulrich, partner at Liberta Investimentos; Marcos Lisboa, former president of Insper; economist Zeina Latif and former Central Bank president Gustavo Franco.

Another confirmed name is Félix Maradiaga, leader of the Nicaraguan opposition to dictator Daniel Ortega.
