After changing Resolution 194/18 of the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP), the value of housing allowance for members of the Public Ministry will jump from just under R$5,000 to up to R$10,000, depending on the salary. of the server.

Before the regulation of the new standard, the value of the benefit was updated annually, now the value can reach 25% of the ceiling remuneration value, which is the salary value of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR).

According to a survey by the newspaper The State of São Paulo (Estadão), the current PGR, Paulo Gonet, receives around R$41,600. In this case, Gonet may receive up to R$10,400 in housing assistance under the new rule.

According to data consulted by Estadão on websites that monitor Public Power payrolls, the average salary of a public prosecutor at the beginning of his career is R$30,000. Thus, at the beginning of their career, this professional will be able to receive around R$7,500 per month in housing assistance.

Currently, the benefit is only granted to those members of the MP who, due to necessity, need to be transferred outside their current homes.

The text that amended article 4 of CNMP Resolution No. 194, of December 18, 2018, was endorsed by the then interim Attorney General of the Republic, Elizeta Ramos, in December of last year.

The new rule was adopted one day before the hearing that approved the appointment of Paulo Gonet for the position of PGR.

The text regulation was signed by the new PGR on February 5, 2024.
