The land regularization of the Colônia Antônio Aleixo neighborhood

Manaus (AM) – The mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, in partnership with the deputy secretary of Union Heritage Management, Caroline Gabas Stuchi, and the superintendent of the Union’s Heritage in Amazonas (SUP), Mauro Leno Rodrigues de Souza, signed the term of cooperation technique that guarantees land regularization in the Colônia Antônio Aleixo neighborhood, located in the East zone, this Wednesday afternoon (14), benefiting more than 900 families.

David Almeida explained that, after the action, the beneficiaries will receive, through the new Municipal Secretary of Housing and Land Affairs (Semhaf), the property records of their respective lots, a fact that brings security to the residents of the almost century-old neighborhood.

“From now on, these residents will receive title deeds and registration from the notary. Our city hall is concerned about this. We are already going to deliver the complete record to the residents. We are going to make these negotiations so that as soon as possible we can be at Colonia Antônio Aleixo delivering this documentation. This issue is very important, as it ensures the safety of residents. We are working this way to reach as many people as possible.”

emphasized Almeida.

Created in the 1930s, the Colônia Antônio Aleixo neighborhood occupies areas belonging to the Union, according to the property registration of the 4th Notary of Manaus.

The mayor of Manaus highlighted that this is only the first area of the capital that will be contemplated with this partnership. Almeida explained that the city hall will propose the regularization of other areas, such as those in the Cidade de Deus neighborhood, in the North zone, and the Coliseu community, in the East.

“We have many actions that we can take together with the Federal Government to solve this problem. We want to build housing and take people out of risk areas to prevent tragedies like the one that happened in March from happening again in our city. We are working on the creek on Magalhães Barata, in Crespo, to be able to build a residential building in a very close area, solving a decades-old problem. All this will be discussed by the new secretariat and we hope to have good news soon”

said the head of the municipal executive.

A resident of Colonia Antônio Aleixo, John Montenegro mentioned that his feeling is one of gratitude to Manaus City Hall, as he can finally say that the house, where he grew up and lives until today, is his.

“First of all, we thank God and the Municipality of Manaus for granting this document, and our feeling is one of relief, because we will have all the documentation of our land. This is a feeling of gratitude for the City Hall of Manaus that is looking at the families of the Colony. Now we can say that in fact the house and land are ours.”

said the resident.
