Simão Peixoto is investigated for defrauding a bid in the municipality of Borba
Federal Judge Marllon Sousa ordered the release of the mayor of Borba, Simão Peixoto, upon payment of bail in the amount of R$ 105,600. Free since Sunday afternoon (16), Peixoto has not been seen wearing an electronic anklet, one of the requirements to remain free.
According to the Federal Court, Simão, as well as the other investigated persons who are at liberty, must be monitored through the ankle bracelet, in addition to being prohibited from going to the municipal bodies and maintaining contact with each other.
Despite being suspended from public service, Simão Peixoto continues to receive a salary normally, according to JF.
Simão was arrested after an investigation pointed out a fraud scheme in bids involving at least R$ 29 million in public funds.
