The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, came out in defense of Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, of the STF (Federal Supreme Court), about the speech “we defeated Bolsonarism”, during the opening of the 59th Congress of the UNE (National Union of Students).

After stating that “we defeated Bolsonarism”, Barroso provoked reactions from deputies allied with former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who spoke of asking for the magistrate’s impeachment.

He mentioned the name of a political current as at other times, including, in judgments, this has already been mentioned. himself made a kind of political declaration embargo, he clarified the content of his manifestation, which was to disapprove violent extremists, anyway”, said the Minister of Justice, in an interview with Canal UOL, this Monday (17).

“There was also a criticism that the Supreme Minister should not go to the UNE event, but not to the Fiesp event? Not to the National Confederation of Agriculture event? Not to the Febraban event? Not to the Brazilian Federation event Banks? Go. So I don’t see a problem going to this or that event”, added the minister.

Barroso defended himself on the statement and stated that he used the expression when, in fact, he was referring to “the coup and violent extremism that was manifested on January 8 and that corresponds to a minority”.

The statement took place after the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), classified the speech as unfortunate, inappropriate and inopportune and criticized the minister’s presence at an event of a political nature.

Dino also spoke about the episode involving Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, and family members, who were harassed on Friday (14) by a group of Brazilians at Rome International Airport. He said the images requested from the Italian authorities should arrive later this week.
