This Friday (19), the head of the Municipal Executive, Dr. Furlan, and senator Lucas Barreto signed a Service Order (OS) that authorizes the renovation of the Sports Complex, Community Center and construction of the Family Space, at Residencial São José , in the South Zone of the capital.

In 120 days, the Municipal Department of Works and Urban Infrastructure (Semob) will carry out the following services: revitalization of courts and playgrounds for children; surrounding paving; renovations to the Community Center; three basketball and futsal courts; the outdoor gym; installation of fences; trash cans; lighting; lawn; paving; landscaping and common area with bandstand, benches and hopscotch.

The Sports Complex will also have a Family Space: with dominoes, futsal table, chess, tennis and ping pong tables; balance sheets; playground; toys for People with Disabilities (PWD) and slide.

Built area size is more than two thousand square meters. Investment is R$ 1,438,772.19 from a parliamentary amendment by Senator Lucas Barreto, plus a counterpart from the Municipal Treasury.

The announcement was celebrated by Carlos Brito, a resident of Habitacional for nine years. “We have needed this improvement for our families for a long time. It is a moment of leisure for everyone, as, in the past, the complex was abandoned. The City Hall is looking for and knows about the advances we need,” he said.

The head of Semob evaluated the news. “All social projects will have a new and attractive location. Children will play and practice physical activities in a safe and peaceful place”, highlighted Cássio Cruz.

“We listen, individually and collectively, to the population to meet other demands. We will allocate resources to other situations, in order to meet all housing needs”, stressed Lucas Barreto.

For the manager of the Department of Sport and Leisure, Bruno Igreja, the new leisure area will strengthen sport in the region. “There are several social projects that receive support from the City Hall. We support martial arts, jiu-jitsu, judo, capoeira and football. With the construction, more children, adults and the elderly will have the opportunity to take care of their physical and mental health through sports,” he highlighted.

According to the representative of the Municipal Government in Brasília, Ivo Melo, “the management listened to the population’s desires, gave the mission to the secretaries and Senator Lucas Barreto, who embraced the idea and guaranteed the resources to deliver social equipment and devices that bring about change in the lives of the people”.

Mayor Dr. Furlan commented on another signed OS. “Each Service Order signed creates jobs, moves the economy and our city. Part of the resources invested will be used to hire people in housing as financial support.”
