The testimony of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former aide-de-camp to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), on Monday afternoon (11), lasted more than 9 hours and ended only in the early hours of this Tuesday (12) to the Federal Police , in Brasilia. It was his seventh hearing with the authorities since investigations into several investigations began last year.

Cid arrived at the PF headquarters shortly before 3 pm and left around 12:15 am. He was heard as a collaborator within the scope of the investigation investigating the alleged participation of Bolsonaro, former ministers, former advisors, allies and military personnel in an attempted coup d’état to keep the former president in power.

Mauro Cid appears as a collaborator in the plea bargain agreement signed with the PF in September last year. According to the clauses of the agreement, Cid is obliged to provide new information to the police authorities whenever necessary so as not to lose the benefits granted.

Investigators hoped that this week’s testimony would clarify or confirm information provided by General Marco Antônio Freire Gomes, former Army commander, at the beginning of the month.

At the time he reached the plea agreement, Cid was a suspect in the investigations investigating Bolsonaro, such as gifts received from foreign governments – such as jewelry from Saudi Arabia – Covid-19 vaccination registration fraud and involvement in the alleged attempt of a coup d’état.

Cid’s collaboration was used by the Federal Police to support requests for arrest and search and seizure warrants carried out by the PF in Operation Tempus Veritatiswhich targeted Jair Bolsonaro, allies and military personnel.
