Manacapuru (AM) – Coach Maurinho Fonseca is the new commander of Princesa do Solimões. The club from Manacapuru (80 kilometers from Manaus) signed a partnership with RPE Parintins, where the coach worked during the 2024 Amazonense Championship, to compete in Series D of the Brazilian Championship. The announcement took place this Tuesday (9).

In addition to him, Tubarão do Norte arranged for the arrival of physical trainer Lúcio Diogo Bento and a group of players, who defended Tourão at Barezão 2024. Princesa do Solimões debuts in Series D against São Raimundo-RR, on the 28th or April 29, at the Gilberto Mestrinho stadium, Gilbertão, in Manacapuru. The match time will still be confirmed by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF),

The president of Princesa do Solimões, Lázaro D’Angelo, spoke about the expectations related to the partnership and commented on the club’s objectives following the season.

“We talked about this partnership with Parintins for more than a month and now it has been confirmed. I believe that, with the group we are left with and the athletes that come, we will have a strong team as the fans expect and deserve. We also hope that we can work in the best way possible, compete well and reach access, which is the most important thing. With these reinforcements in both the squad and the committee, we believe that Princesa do Solimões will fight for one of these four places in Series C of the Brazilian Championship”,

said the president of Princesa, Lázaro D’Angelo.

According to the president of Tubarão do Norte, the expectation is that the athletes will be officially announced in the next few days.

Football manager Thadeu Figueiredo and football director Luis Cláudio da Silva also arrived at the Manacapuru club, who explained why he chose Princesa do Solimões. Luis also highlighted how the partnership can be beneficial for both Tubarão and Tourão, which still has a chance of competing in Série D in 2025, if the Manacapuru team gains access.

“Our idea is to help Amazonian football. We had a result beyond most people’s expectations with Parintins and, in the final stretch of the championship, we ended up aligning this partnership, in which we will add the two teams to reinforce Princesa do Solimões in Series D. The agreement with Princesa came through closeness I have with President Lázaro and the project itself. Our idea was to take a closed group of players who are already renewed with Parintins and will have the opportunity to begin to understand the competition”,

declared Luís Cláudio.

In return for the arrivals through the partnership with RPE Parintins, Princesa do Solimões officially announced the departure of 10 players: goalkeeper Leonardo; full-backs Marquinhos Baiano and Bruno Soares; defender Victor Ramon; midfielders Willian Daltro and Riquelme; and attackers Wendel Bahia, Felipe Barão, Matheus Lima and Warlei. All were agreed upon by the parties.
