The publication specializing in travel around the world, Lonely Planet, ranked Manaus as one of the 50 best destinations to visit in 2024.
The capital of Amazonas is the only representative of Brazil on the list, which this year is divided into five categories: countries, regions, cities, sustainable travel destinations and places with the best value for money.
“A poetic collision of hot spectacle and ecotourism adventure awaits you in Manaus”, says the publication, which places the Teatro Amazonas, the Banzeiro restaurant, Praia da Lua and Encontro das Águas as highlights of what to see and do in the city.

The best of travel in 2024
In addition to Manaus, other South American representatives on the list are: Chile, which is among the best countries; Patagonia, both Argentine and Chilean, which appears among sustainable destinations; and Ecuador, also in the sustainability category.
