The Secretary of Citizenship and Justice of the Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) administration, Fábio Prieto, will present this Thursday (9) a proposal to the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) for the installation of voting stations in nursing homes and hospitals. The main focus is on victims of violence who are hospitalized.

The event will take place at 10:30 am, at Pátio do Colégio, in the center of São Paulo, and was called “Citizenship for Victims of Violence – everyone has the right to vote”.

“Victims of attempted murder, robbery, rape and other serious crimes committed with violence and/or with reduced mobility must exercise their right to vote, under the same conditions as the alleged perpetrators of the crimes”, states Prieto, in a note.

According to him, the law guarantees accessibility for voters with disabilities or reduced mobility, which, in Prieto’s view, “is exactly the right to vote in the case of victims of crime.”
