Last Saturday (20), the Federal Supreme Court (STF) formed a majority to make defendants over 250 denounced by the acts of January 8. The analysis of the complaints against these 250 people ends on Monday (22).

This is the fifth batch of accusations against intellectual authors and inciters of acts of vandalism. The rapporteur, Alexandre de Moraes, and ministers Dias Toffoli, Rosa Weber, Gilmar Mendes, Cármen Lúcia and Luís Roberto Barroso voted to receive the accusations from the PGR. Minister Nunes Marques was the only one who disagreed so far.

With the confirmation of the result, in all, there will be more than a thousand people investigated who will become defendants, according to the judgment of the STF. Thus, the accused will respond to a criminal action and become defendants in the process.

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) filed a total of 1,390 complaints against those involved in the January 8 acts. The trial of the first complaints began in April.
