President Lula (PT) decided to give a post to former deputy Jean Wyllys in the government’s Communication Secretariat, which is commanded by Minister Paulo Pimenta.

The former parliamentarian recently returned to Brazil after giving up his mandate as a federal deputy and spending four years outside the country due to threats to his physical integrity.

He will work in the area of ​​communication planning. Wyllys maintains a close relationship with the first lady, Rosângela da Silva, Janja, who received him in her office at the Planalto Palace and published a video on social networks on the 6th.

Wyllys, after leaving Brazil, went to Barcelona to do his doctorate. Elected with 24,295 votes, he claimed to have taken the decision to leave public life due to the intensification of death threats, especially after the murder of then councilor Marielle Franco, also from PSOL. Since her death, he had been living under guard.

According to him, the links between the Bolsonaro family and the militia also weighed in the decision to leave. “The president who has always slandered me, who has always openly insulted me, who has always used homophobia against me. That environment is not safe for me,” he added.
