Lula reaffirms Boulos support for the City of SP in 2024 – 07/20/2023 – Power

President Lula (PT) reaffirmed this Thursday (20) to federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP) that he will support him in the race for São Paulo City Hall in 2024.

The commitment was reinforced in a conversation with the parliamentarian shortly before the sanctioning ceremony of the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), at the Planalto Palace. According to allies, Lula asked them to organize the ceremony precisely to strengthen and demonstrate support for the ally.

The gesture occurs at a time when a group of PT members question the viability of the deputy’s candidacy. Lula’s dialogue with Boulos was witnessed by the chief minister of the Institutional Relations Secretariat, Alexandre Padilha (PT), who has already run for governor of São Paulo.

Boulos was the rapporteur for the project in the Chamber, establishing that at least 30% of all resources reserved for the purchase of food by bodies, public companies and public administration entities should be allocated to the acquisition of products from family farmers.
